Tonight we offer a sampling of poets working at the boundaries of performance, visual art and poetry whose work has appeared in gorse, the Dublin-based journal that has quickly established itself as an exciting presence on the European literary scene.

Aodán McArdle is a painter, poet, gardener, and tattooist based in Donegal. He works with improvised performance/writing/drawing and has collaborated with London Under Construction (LUC) and now as part of Cuislí, a performance art collaborative. He is a co-editor at Veer Books, an imprint of the Contemporary Poetics Research Centre (CPRC) at Birkbeck College, University of London.

Christodoulos Makris's most recent publication is if we keep drawing cartoons (If A Leaf Falls Press, 2016). His second book The Architecture of Chance (Wurm Press, 2015) was selected as a poetry book of the year by RTÉ Arena and 3:AM Magazine, and in 2016 he was named as one of Poetry Ireland's 'Rising Generation' of poets. He is co-curator of Phonica, a multidisciplinary series of events in Dublin, and the poetry editor of gorse.

Suzanne Walsh is a cross-disciplinary artist who works mainly with text, performance and audio. She writes essays, poetry, and art-criticism and her work often explores the animal/human divide. She has recently shown work in galleries including IMMA and The LAB Gallery, and is published in gorse and Circa magazines amongst others.
