Is minic a bhíonn an stiallghreannán ina ghearrscéal. De ghnáth, bíonn fad de thrí nó ceithre phainéal ag baint leo. Sa cheardlann seo, beimid ag plé na gcéimeanna a théann le stiallghreannán mar Garfield, Peanuts nó Calvin is Hobbs a chruthú. Beidh na micléinn ag tarrraingt nithe éagsúla le chéile, ag plé smaointe difriúla is ag baint usáid as an teimpléid stiallghreannáin chun a scéalta féin a chruthú.

Is cartúnaí, scríbhneoir agus foilsitheoir é Aidan Courtney. Foilsíonn sé greannáin i nGaeilge. Baineann sé usáid as cuid de na cruthaitheoirí is fearr sa tír ina chuid oibre, mar iad a oibríonn ar Ruaille Buaille mar shampla. Is aoibhinn leis bheith ag léamh agus bheith ag breathnú ar ghreannáin, ar ndóigh, go speisialta le cupán tae láidir ina lámh.

The comic strip is often made up of a short story in three or four panels. In this workshop we will be talking about the different steps in creating a comic strip like Garfield, Peanuts or Calvin and Hobbes. The students will draw things together, talk about ideas and then will use a comic strip template to create their own stories.

Aidan Courtney is a cartoonist, writer and publisher. He publishes comics in Irish for kids by great creators in a collection called Ruaille Buaille. He likes to read books and comics while drinking strong tea.
