We are delighted to welcome Rebecca Solnit on her first visit to Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival. In this conversation with The Irish Times’ Kathy Sheridan, Rebecca Solnit explores her latest book, Recollections of My Non-Existence. A memoir set against the backdrop of a 1980s San Francisco rife with gender violence and trauma, Recollections of My Non-Existence paints a portrait of a young artist finding her voice through writing, relationships, and punk rock.
Activist, historian, and author Rebecca Solnit’s more than 20 books include A Field Guide to Getting Lost, Wanderlust: A History of Walking, and Men Explain Things to Me. Her many honours include two NEA fellowships for literature, the Kirkus Prize for Nonfiction, and - for her book River of Shadows: Eadweard Muybridge and the Technological Wild West - a Guggenheim, the National Book Critics Circle Award in Criticism, and Harvard’s Mark Lynton History Prize.
Kathy Sheridan is one of Ireland’s best known and loved journalists, writes for The Irish Times and is a regular contributor to politics and current affairs programmes.
