Film Poems represent a meeting point between visual arts, spoken word and music. We are delighted to present Refurbishment by Luke Morgan from our collection of film poems. In Refurbishment, as in all his work, Luke Morgan connects us to the moment, maps it, brings us beyond it and changes the way we might look at the world.
Our collection also includes Connemara Illuminated by Christine Valters Paintner and Charcoal Iron by Nithy Kasa. Selfie by Victoria Kennefick is receiving its premiere screening at Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival 2021 and Wandersong by Nidhi Zak/Aria Eipe is a newly commissioned work, made especially for our very first online festival. Each one is just a few minutes long. Take a quiet moment to yourself and have a look.
Luke Morgan is an Irish poet. His debut collection Honest Walls was published by Arlen House in 2016 when he was just 21 years old. His second collection Beast is forthcoming. He was the winner in his category of the inaugural Poetry Ireland/Trócaire Competition and the National Student Poetry Award in 2012. He is also a filmmaker - his films have been shown all over the world at various festivals and won awards at the South African Film Festival, Offline Film Festival and his debut feature film Sooner or Later is available to watch worldwide on Amazon Prime. He has been to Cannes twice with his short films. He lives and works in Galway.
